Welcome to my gallery

I have  long had a love for traveling to far flung places, as well as a passion for painting traditional cultures around the world. I began by painting scenes I observed while living and traveling in Mexico and Latin America. Since 2007 I have been painting scenes from Asia, with a focus on the people of Northwest China. I am passionate about expressing the beauty and dignity of these places and people through my paintings.

As I have witnessed how quickly modernity is encroaching on and changing  traditional cultures around the world, I feel a sense of urgency to document the people and elements that remain before their beauty is forgotten by the modern world. I am fascinated by the people, colors, patterns, textures and implements of daily life in cultures not my own.
